Cascais

It was for centuries a fishing village, and later it was the summer vacation retreat of Portuguese royalty and nobility, which allowed its urban and tourist development.

The Cascais region has a temperate Mediterranean climate in which the summers are dry and cool due to the currents of the Atlantic Ocean, and the winters with precipitation but the temperatures never drop below 6º centigrade. This climate combined with the great fishing activity, had a great contribution to the local gastronomy, which is composed essentially of fish and seafood.

Estoril

This is the most famous parish in the municipality of Cascais, it has several attractions and points of interest, namely the proximity to the Capital, the Natural Park of Sintra-Cascais, numerous and beautiful gardens, the largest casino in Europe, a Congress Center, a racetrack and several prestigious golf courses, the coast with several beaches.

You can easily head to Lisbon from Casa Vela Guest House on Estrada Nacional n.º 6, better known as Avenida Marginal, where you will have a privileged view and enjoy the Atlantic Ocean. If you prefer, you can also opt for the transport network and road access that also have access to this landscape.

Sintra

Sintra, just 10 minutes away, has a landscape classified by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. This landscape includes not only the Sintra Cascais Natural Park but also all its Castles and Palaces. It is known for its romantic and cozy atmosphere.

Throughout the landscape of the typical village of Sintra, you can find marks of the entire Portuguese history from the Moorish occupation of the Castle of Sintra to the 19th century at Quinta da Regaleira or Palácio da Pena.

This city has an unlimited number of attractions ranging from Monuments, Museums, Bars, Nightclubs, Restaurants, Gardens, Zoo, Landscapes, the best Football Stadiums in Europe, Concerts, Festivals, as well as the second largest Oceanarium in the world. Downtown Pombalina, Belém, Chiado or Bairro Alto are tourist areas of great prominence.
